Summary

I designed and manufactured this nosecone for the RIT Launch Initiative's Level 1 certification rocket, which students use to attain their NAR L1 High-Power certitication.

The new nosecone reduces the cost of the L1 certification rocket by 25% and increased maximum altitude by 500 feet.

Style Variants

All nosecones are printed-to-order for students based on their preferences in color and style. The three styles of the nosecone are traditional, payload, and camera.

The traditional nosecone is a regular nosecone, optimized for mass to provide the highest flight possible. 

The payload nosecone is designed to maximize usable internal volume for carrying avionics and payloads, and has multiple equalization ports to allow barometers to operate inside.

The camera nosecone has internal mounting and a side hole cut for an SQ-12 camera, which records the flight.
